Badger Mountain Trail, hike, Bike, Horse...

Friends of Badger mountain have created these wonderful trails for the public. Click on the link for directions. http://www.friendsofbadger.org/access.html The trail at Westcliff is for hiking only. It is a great trail for families. My young children had a little bit of difficulty hiking it on a hot day. The trail is getting very popular. At the top you can see the Snake, the Columbia, the Yakima, Mt. Adams... The trail is very well kept. I spoke with the "friends of badger mountain" and they said that they hope to add more trails in the future.

The second trail on Dallas road, called Skyline trail, is open for hiking, biking and horseback riding. I believe this hike is a little longer and much quieter. These two trails actually connect and you can do the entire hike which is about 7 miles, or so I'm told.

State Patrol- Kennewick- Bike Trail

Trail Description:Fun ride through the desert terrain of Eastern Washington. The ride is best in the fall, winter and spring as it gets quite hot and too dusty in the summer. Puncture protection is highly recommended.
How to get there:U.S. 395 south of Kennewick, look for a sign to the Washington State patrol station, trail head is at the end of a short dead end road. http://www.dirtworld.com/trails/trail.asp?id=1480&trail_name=State%20Patrol%20Mountain%20Bike%20Trail $free$

White Bluffs Bike Trail

Probably not for young riders... I've heard it's a pretty good ride. May want to find out first if it is on restricted land as the US fish and wildlife manage the property now. Here is the web site describing the trail. click the link below for directions. Have fun.

McNary Wildlife Refuge.
